In Persona 3, classroom lectures often challenge players with trivia questions regarding ancient history, language, and culture. One memorable question involves identifying the term used for places where people dumped waste during Japan's historic Jomon period. Navigating these academic queries accurately rewards the protagonist with valuable stat points that help advance social links.
The Classroom Question and Correct Answer
During the spring semester lectures at Gekkoukan High School, Mr. Edogawa asks the protagonist about historical archaeology. Specifically, he prompts the class to identify what places used to dump waste in the Jomon period are called today. The correct answer to this pop quiz question is "Middens" (or shell mounds).
Answering this question correctly instantly increases your Charm social stat. Maintaining high Social Stats is vital for unlocking new Social Links and interacting with various characters throughout Tatsumi Port Island. Missing these questions can delay your social progression, so keeping track of dates is recommended.
How Jomon Period Waste Relates to Quests
Beyond classroom pop quizzes, historical items and references occasionally tie into Velvet Room requests given by Elizabeth or Theodore. These requests require players to visit specific locations, retrieve items from Tartarus, or answer trivia to demonstrate knowledge. Paying attention during school lectures ensures you never get stuck when an NPC or quest giver tests your knowledge.
Completing Velvet Room quests yields helpful rewards such as skill cards, rare equipment, and valuable items. Staying on top of both school life and dungeon exploration creates a balanced playstyle that optimizes time management. Make sure to check the Velvet Room regularly after major calendar events to accept new tasks.
Tips for Maximizing Academic and Social Success
Balancing high school life and shadow hunting requires effective daily planning. Always stay awake during class when prompted to secure automatic stat increases for Academics or Charm. Additionally, studying at night in your room or at the library further boosts your knowledge before upcoming midterm and final exams.
By mastering classroom questions like the Jomon period waste inquiry, you build a strong foundation for your protagonist. High social stats make it much easier to build meaningful relationships with teammates and schoolmates alike. Keeping a reliable schedule ensures you experience everything Persona 3 has to offer without missing critical deadlines.
